Our Breakwater Blanket is woven in Maine exclusively for Swans Island. We use our own soft organic EcoWash® Merino wool and organic American cotton. Our unique design features a modern graduated stripe pattern that transitions from one color to the next. These lofty blankets have a rich, variegated tonality that can only be achieved through our hand-dyeing process. Bring home a bit of the New England shore with this pattern inspired by ripples of the tide hitting the breakwater.

At Swans Island Company, we make our washable wool throws from soft organic Merino wool and organic American cotton. We gently treat our EcoWash® yarns with a natural enzyme to prevent felting. So you may safely launder these at home. Because we value American manufacturing, Breakwater blankets are woven for us here in Maine by a small family-run mill. And we hand-dye our yarns in our Northport, Maine dye house.
