Island Throws

Product Description

Designed in honor of our silver anniversary,  these special edition Island Throws embody our company philosophy: simple design, traditional techniques, and the rustic beauty of natural fibers.  Inspired by antique New England textiles, they feature a natural grey wool base with bold bands of hand-dyed color.  Neutral tones of brown, blue and grey work well with many styles of decor.  The signature weaver’s mark denotes an exclusive Swans Island product.

The unique single-source wool used to make these 100% wool throws comes from a flock of sheep at Long Cove Farm on Vinalhaven Island, Maine.  It is custom spun for us at a small mill in Vermont, then handwoven by our team of Maine artisans on our antique looms.  Each Island Throw comes in our signature linen box, perfect for gift-giving or safe keeping.
