Swans Island joins forces with Casa Branca to present a collection of heirloom-quality throws. Designed in Palm Beach and handwoven in Maine, this Branca Stripe Throw is the result of an exclusive collaboration between acclaimed Palm Beach designer Alessandra Branca of Casa Branca and the award-winning Swans Island weavers. Together, they bring to life a collection of heirloom-quality wool throws that blend iconic design heritage with time-honored American craftsmanship.
Reversible Design Artistry
Inspired by historic patterns, this design has been a foundational element of Alessandra Branca’s signature interiors for over 25 years. The striking, mid-blanket inversion of the stripe pattern offers two distinct styling moods in a single textile. Whether draped over a sleek Palm Beach sofa or layered into a weathered Maine cottage, it commands attention as a functional piece of art.
Authentic Artisan Details
Achieving a seamless, perfect shift in a reversing pattern requires immense precision on an antique loom. Our master dyers use small-batch techniques to create the deep, saturated colorways of the wool. Each piece is finished with a hand-stitched, Mulberry silk binding and features our signature weaver’s mark discreetly woven into the corner—a historic stamp of true, uncompromised American craftsmanship.
You may also consider the other designs in the Casa Branca Collection—the Branca Stripe Grande Throw and the Branca Ticking Throw. Whether softening a sleek Palm Beach interior or layering into a weathered Maine retreat, our latest collection is a study in versatile, heirloom-quality design.
