Please note, our artisan-made traditional terracotta collection takes more care and attention than machine made product.
Prior to first use, all pieces must be washed by hand in hot soapy water, well rinsed and allowed to air dry. To maintain the integrity of the pieces (i.e., colour, glaze), dishwasher use is not recommended.
Terracotta is naturally a porous material. While the porous nature of food-safe glazed terracotta will decrease over time and with continued use (by washing the pieces and allowing them to fully air dry between uses), we do not recommend the pieces be used as long-term storage for food or liquids. Please protect delicate surfaces that may be affected by water marks.
For vases, or if using a terracotta pitcher or jug as a vase, please change water daily and protect delicate surfaces that may be affected by water marks. Jugs, pitchers and vases are shipped with a dual-language product info card with this information.
All our pieces are handmade and hand-painted. Some marks in the glaze are natural and expected, as is some crazing. This will not affect the use or durability of the pieces. Please expect differences in sizes with our terracotta collection, since all pieces are handmade.
