Welcome to Swans Island Company

Welcome to Swans Island

At Swans Island Company we make beautiful textiles…
from farm to finish.

Fleece from sheep, hands in the dye pot,
hands on the loom, hands guiding needle and thread.

From our 250 year-old farmhouse on the coast of Maine, we create beautiful, award-winning textiles that are known and cherished the world over. With a passion for traditional craft we elevate timeless design, turning fine natural fibers into home goods that you will cherish for a lifetime.

We are dedicated to transparency and sustainability, working with small local farms and small family-run U.S. mills and our own team of skilled dyers, weavers and stitchers. We’re a small company in small-town Maine that still believes in treating customers like family.

“I wanted to thank you again for all you did for me. The blanket is beautiful! I can’t express enough my gratitude for your service, kindness, and customer care. I am and will be a customer for many years to come”

We support our customers and our products for a lifetime.

“Nathan was absolutely delighted with the rejuvenated blanket. And when I told him how hard you and the team had worked to resuscitate it, he was even more thrilled.”

We still believe in making things the way they used to be made—with passion, integrity, and quality—right here in Maine, USA.

“Over the last few years, we have come to greatly appreciate the dedication of your team and the quality of your products. As I may have mentioned to you, a Swans Island blanket is our wedding present of choice for very special people…and they always appreciate what a wonderful gift it is.”

It’s our mission to transform humble elements into beautiful objects for your everyday life. Welcome to Swans Island Company. We hope you’ll get to know us better!
