The Govou Medium Quilt Basket blends vintage country style with modern-day panache. The artisans at Govou Textiles transform beautiful antique European hemp grain sacks into each unique tote bag. These unique tote bags are made of patchwork quilted pieces in classic neutrals and stripes.
These casual basket-shaped totes have a lightweight cotton lining and two shorter handles that lend a more traditional pocketbook feel to these lovely bags. Two longer shoulder straps add versatility for days when you’ve got lots to carry.
The classic grain sack textiles used to make these bags date from the early 1900’s when every farm had its own distinctive cloth pattern. These textiles are by nature eco-friendly as they were originally handwoven with home-grown plant materials over a century ago. Govou has found a creative and beautiful way to repurpose lovely vintage textiles into chic, modern, functional bags.
